Time May Heal Wounds – But It Does Not Absolve Responsibility

Bill was AA’s visionary for one very simple reason. He knew that our Fellowship was not exempt from any of the ills that fell upon other spiritualized societies. If anything, he was well aware that we were more prone to them than others. And so his prediction of “future adverse results” has held true.

30 years after Bill presented the Twelve Concepts and his Recommendations, an attempt was made to once again grow AA’s unity by facing its internal problems. A proposal was sent to the trustees with the stated purpose to “provide a focus through which those possible errors in judgment, by delegates, staff, and trustees, can be noted and forgiven by the AA Fellowship. In so doing, the trust and harmony necessary for our society to proceed and prosper will be replenished.”
