AA'S THREE LEGACIES
...Our Three Legacies." The first Legacy is Recovery. What does Recovery mean? It is defined as getting back something lost. What have we lost? Trust, love, respect, family and more, as a direct result of our alcoholism. By applying the Twelve Steps of A.A. to our lives on a daily basis we are able to recover.

When I think about our Second Legacy, I think about being combined as one. We have one ultimate authority. We have one primary purpose. "The unity of Alcoholics Anonymous is the most cherished quality our Society has. Our lives, the lives of all to come, depend squarely upon it..."
Our Third legacy is Service. We have all been chosen to serve. We know that faith alone does not save us, we need to act, to do something. We need to carry the message, practice A.A. principles in all our affairs or we will slip, wither and die. A.A. groups must also serve their appointed purpose, do something, or wither and fall apart.
